Little/Junior Miss Union County Fair Pageant

Welcome to the Little Miss and Junior Miss Union County Fair Pageant! As a contestant, your daughter is required to be between the ages of 10 and 12 years old for Little Miss and 13 and 15 years old for Junior Miss, and attend school in Union County.

Deadlines:

·        Sunday, August 6th, 2017 registration forms and entry fee are due. No entries will be accepted after August 6th, 2017. Please be at the Union County Fair Board office at 5:00 to turn in forms, entry fee, and to go over pageant details. Come picture ready please. Tiffany Dillow Photography will be taking a group photo that will be published in the local newspaper. Headshots for the program book and judge’s book will be taken as well. Practices will be at the VFW or the Elks lodge. A schedule will be handed out at the August 6th meeting with updated locations.

·        Little Miss Entry fee: $35.00

·        Junior Miss Entry fee: $35.00

·        Entry fee is due with registration forms on Tuesday August 6th, 2017. There are no late entries allowed.

The Little Miss and Junior Miss Union County Fair Pageant will take place at the Miss Union County Fair Pageant on August 20th at 7:30 p.m. in front of the Henry Don Dillow grandstand. If you have any questions please call or text:

Little Miss: There will be two categories, consisting of public speaking (introductions) and party dress.

Junior Miss: There will be three categories, consisting of public speaking (introductions), evening gown/party dress, and on-stage question.

The introduction for each contestant should include:

·        Contestant name (First and Middle name ONLY no last names)

·        Age

·        Hometown

The order does not matter! Here is a sample:

Good Evening! I’m Contestant number 3, Chloe Marie I am 11 years old from Jonesboro.

(Each introduction does not have to be exactly like this, this is just an example. If there are any questions regarding this please contact me.)

·        Little Miss party dress category, each contestant will not be judged on her dress. However, the attire must consist of a formal dress. The contestants will need only to wear a party dress or Christmas dress. This dress is NOT to be floor length and is NOT to be an evening gown or a short pageant dress. A high/low dress is acceptable.

·        Junior Miss party dress/evening gown category, each contestant will not be judged on her dress. However, the attire must consist of a formal dress. It can be a party/cocktail dress or an evening gown. Contestants will not have a place to change and will have to wear their dress to the pageant. No two piece dresses that show the mid-section will be allowed and if it is a low back dress it must stop at the natural waist line. If wearing an evening gown with a slit, the slit can be no higher than 4 inches above the knee. Any cut outs or shear material on the front of the dress must be filled in with fabric of the same color of the dress and not taupe colored fabric.

Contestants will be judged in introductions on confidence, voice, public speaking, and overall performance. For the party dress category each contestant will be scored based on posture, walk, confidence, and personality. Junior Miss on-stage question will be judged on response, projection, confidence and overall impression.

Opportunities and Expectations as the new Little Miss or Junior Miss Union County:

As Little/Junior Miss Union County, the winner will have the opportunity to spend time with Miss Union County Fair Queen throughout her reign, and attend appearances together such as parades, pageants, etc.

LITTLE/JUNIOR MISS UNION COUNTY FAIR QUEEN CONTEST

RULES AND REGULATIONS

 

We welcome you as Union County Fair Little/Junior Miss contestant. In order to protect the integrity of the Fair and pageant, the rules are stated below. Please read them carefully. By a guardian signing the last page, it will be assumed that both the contestant and guardian understand them completely and agree to abide by the rules.

1.     To participate in the pageant, each contestant must understand and accept the requirements of the pageant, including the Rules and Regulations as set forth below for each and every contestant that will be applicable to her activities during the pageant process.

2.     Little Miss contestants must be at least 10 years of age as of the day of the pageant and must not have reached her 13th birthday by the day of the pageant. Contestants must be between the ages of 10-12. Junior Miss contestants must be at least 13 years of age as of the day of the pageant and must not have reached her 16th birthday by the day of the pageant

3.     Contestants must be a US Citizen, must have permanent residency in Illinois and Union County and must attend a Union County School. If contestant goes to a private school out of Union County proof must be made available. Parent or legal guardian must be an Illinois resident.

4.     Must pay the entry fee the set day of final registration.

5.     Is of good physical condition.

6.     Is of good moral character. Has never performed any act or engaged in activity that is or could be characterized as immoral.

7.     All postings on social network sites must be suitable for a queen contestant. No photos or posts on any website or social media should in any way demean any contestant, the Union County Fair Queen Pageant, the Little Miss Union County Fair Queen Pageant, the Union County Fair Queen, the Little Miss Union County Fair Queen, or the Union County Fair Board.

8.     All attitudes, actions, and activities should be respectful at all times.

9.     All candidates are required to attend any meetings and rehearsals as set forth by the Directors and must be on time. Any exceptions must be approved by the Directors.

10.            Absolutely no cell phones during any meetings or practices.

11.            No wigs or hairpieces may be worn during the pageant.

12.            Little Miss dresses should be knee length. A high/low dress is acceptable. No long pageant dress. No cupcake short pageant dresses. Contestants should wear a party or Christmas type dress. Please note; there will be no changing area for the Little/Junior Miss contestants. Girls will wear their dress to the pageant

13.            Junior Miss dresses can be a party/cocktail style dress or you may wear a long evening gown. No two piece dresses that show the mid-section are allowed. 14.            Any items lost or stolen during any meetings, rehearsals, or the pageant itself is not the responsibility of the Union County Fair Board, Pageant Volunteers, or Pageant Directors.

15.            No payments, gifts or other advantages will be offered or accepted.

16.            Contestant understands that be competing she is freely agreeing to the conditions set forth in the above rules and is to abide by them. It is understood that the Directors have the right to disqualify a contestant if any improprieties or negative circumstances occur.

17.            Contestants and guardians agree that the decisions of the judges are FINAL.

***FAILURE TO FOLLOW ANY OF THE RULES AS SET FORTH ABOVE WILL RESULT IN AUTOMATIC DISQUALIFICATION.

 

 

By signing below, contestant and parent(s)/guardians have read, understand, and agree to abide by these rules and will adhere to the guidelines as set forth above while vying for the title of Little Miss or Junior Miss Union County Fair Queen. LIABILITY RELEASE

IN CONSIDERATION OF being permitted to participate in the Little/Junior  Miss Union County Fair Queen pageant, the entrant, on behalf of the Executive Board of the Union County Fair Association and the Pageant Directors, herby:

1.      Acknowledge that the entrant’s participation in the Little/Junior Miss
Union County Fair Queen Pageant, may include activities that may be hazardous to the entrant and assumes the risk of injury or harm associated with such participation.

2.      Releases and forever discharges the Executive Board of the Union County Fair Association and the Pageant Directors, shareholders, affiliates, agents, representatives, successors and assigns(collectively the “Releases”) of and from all liability, claims, demands, damages, costs, expenses, actions, and causes of action  (collectively the “Claims”) in respect of death, injury, loss, or damage to myself or property, howsoever caused, arising, or to arise by reason of or during my participation in the Little/Junior Miss Union County Fair Queen Pageant or pageant related events, whether prior to, during, or subsequent to my attendance, and notwithstanding that any Claim may have been contributed to or occasioned by the negligence of any of the Releases.

3.      Indemnifies and holds harmless the Releases from and against any and all liability incurred by any or all of them arising as a result of or in any way connected to my participation in the Little/Junior Miss Union County Fair Queen Pageant.

4.      Understands and acknowledges that the Releases do not carry or maintain health, medical, accidental, or disability insurance coverage for the entrant, and therefore agrees to assume responsibility for such insurance coverage on the undersigned if the need should arise.

CONSENT FORM

          I hereby acknowledge that the personal data as shown on the entry form is correct, and that I have read and understand the Miss/Little Miss/Junior Miss Union County Fair Queen Pageant general rules. I understand that the time, manner, and method of conducting the Pageant are solely within the discretion of the Pageant Officials and the decision of the judges are final. I hereby agree to comply with all rules of the Miss/Little Miss/Junior Miss Union County Fair Queen Pageant. I agree to participate with good sportsmanship and respect for Union County.

          If chosen as a titleholder, I agree to represent Union County to the best of my abilities. The Miss/Little Miss/Junior Miss Union County Fair Queen Pageant expects equal treatment of all contestants regardless of ethnicity or race.

          I hereby grant permission to the Union County Fair Queen organizers, officials, pageant directors, and event organizers to use my photographs for publicity/promotional purposes in any and all media.

·        All fees are non-refundable

·        Anything lost, stolen, or damaged during the pageant practices or the pageant is not the responsibility of the Pageant Directors, the Union County Fair board, or the City of Anna.

The Entrant and her parent or guardian herby acknowledges that they have read the official rules and agrees to participate and/or allow their child to participate in all aspects of the pageant and Union County Fair, and any approved activities during the Queen’s reigning year.
