And a message from Kaitlyn:

.... And the winner is, contestant #7, Kaitlin McWhorter. Wait a minute, that's me. OH MY GOSH! That's me!
If you had asked me one year ago what I thought of beauty pageants, my answer would have been nothing short of a snicker and an explanation of just how pointless I thought they were. Boy was I wrong! I cannot even begin to explain how glad I am that I decided to run for the title of Miss Union County Fair 2015 and then get to represent my county at the Illinois State Fair Queen Pageant in January with 68 other fair queens.
I have been attending the Union County Fair for as long as I can remember, usually in boots and jeans. Little did I know, in a long sparkly dress and some pretty high heels, I could gain so much self-confidence and realize that is was really fun to be on stage in front of a couple hundred people.
I will be forever grateful to all the people who helped me throughout my reign including my family and friends, the best pageant director that I could of ever asked for and of course my sponsor Crain Funeral Home. I am sad to give up my crown, I would wear it forever if I could, but I am so excited to see who will be the next Miss Union County Fair!
